A quick guide the best iPhone launchers currently availably for Android devices
What is a launcher anyway?
Launchers are pieces of software you can download, in the form of an app, to allow you to make a suite of changes to the display settings of your android device. A launcher often opens up possibilities and gives you access to display setting options you didn’t previously have on your device – being able to remove so-called bloatware apps from the dock on your home-screen, for example.
Launchers provide tons of options, themes and icons for your handset, as well as offering near complete control over how your phone performs when switching screens, launching apps and more.
You might need to install a particular launcher in order to install a specific app – e. g. if you want to use the Pip-Tec wallpapers and icons theme, you’ll be given the heads-up to download and install Nova launcher first.
Here are ten top-rated launchers for Android:
Nova Launcher
Google Now Launcher
Yahoo Aviate Launcher
Nokia Z Launcher
Buzz Launcher
Apex
Action Launcher Pro
ADW Launcher
What is an iPhone launcher and why would you want one?
In the last quarter of 2015, Apple turned a record profit of US$53.4bn, so they must be doing something right. An iPhone launcher allows you to:
Enjoy the famously user-friendly interface of Apple
Download and use iPhone-only apps
Access data you had saved to a user account within an iPhone-only application
Combine something akin to the sleek iOS 7 layout with Android’s functionality
Shake up your android default launcher if you’re bored
Try out an iOS experience before committing to switch to Apple for real.
Ultimately, running an iPhone-mimicking display is going to let you have your cake and eat it too: the only reason that you can tweak your settings to this extent is because you’ve chosen to use an Android, which –in case you didn’t know it yet – are vastly more accommodating to users getting inside the software and changing the way things work. An Android device will let you do things like look at your downloads folder and search through all your phone’s files outside of the framework of the apps that created them. You could never do this the other way around, installing an Android-like experience on an Apple device.

The Fine Print
Whenever you buy an app, pay attention to the permissions it asks for, and consider rejecting any apps that seem to be expecting you to passively hand over too much of your data. For instance, why does a flashlight app need access to your contacts, calendar and emails? Maybe they’ve just picked an inaccurate end-user agreement to attach to their download. Maybe it’s their business model to sell your anonomized data to third parties who buy ad space on the app. Or maybe the app contains actual malware. You can’t always know, but you can at least not completely skip reading that section of the download agreement.
